Nokia planning a tablet might be on Windows based

Written on 4 May 2011 by

I’m not certain what the future of Nokia is, but the partnership between the Finnish company and Microsoft should give the big N quite a boost.

Another boost to Nokia could be the company’s tablet. There isn’t any information on the tablet at this time, and this includes the operating system or any possibility of a release date.

If the release date is way in the future, then it could be running on Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system that is planned for next year. If it is the first Windows 8 tablet, than that is something unique in a world flooded with Tablet PCs (at least 200 at last count). However, the Nokia tablet could easily go with Windows Phone 7, Android, Symbian, or MeeGo.

Whatever the case, Nokia had better make something really different if it wants to compete with the Goliath iPad. The Sony S1 and S2 are unique enough, and I just don’t know what one tablet can do that another can’t.

Samsung Galaxy S 2 Official

Written on 4 May 2011 by

Samsung has been one of the biggest names in the Android smartphone world for quite some time now largely thanks to their highly popular Galaxy S. Now that the hype has died down surrounding the Galaxy S, much of the online community is looking towards the Galaxy S 2 with rumors running rampant. While many of these rumors have been thus unconfirmed, today the most seemingly official piece of information has surfaced.

What you see above is a reportedly legit render of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 spotted on a Korean news site and was accompanied with some specs. According to said specs, this device features a 4.3-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Google’s Android Gingerbread 2.3. Additionally, the device is said to weight just 116 grams and measure just 8.49mm thick.

Based on reports these specs along with the render are totally legit, but if you’re still skeptical, Samsung is expected to debut the device tomorrow during the kick-off of Mobile World Congress.

White iPhone 4 Thicker Than Black Version?

Written on 4 May 2011 by

If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that today is the day Apple has finally released the white version of their highly popular iPhone 4 for both AT&T and Verizon. This comes after months of speculation with some suggesting Apple may not be releasing the white iPhone 4 at all. Well, now it’s finally on the market so all of these rumors and speculation can finally come to an end.

On a hardware level, the white iPhone 4 is identical to the black version meaning it has the same processor, camera and screen resolution (among other things). However, one thing that isn’t the same, according to recent reports, is the thickness of the device. As you can see from the above snapshot the white iPhone 4 is just a bit thicker than the black version. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem but seeing how many cases for the device rely on snapping on snugly, this causes a problem.

If you have a white iPhone 4, have you noticed any problems regarding a snap on case? Let us know.

LG to Make Google Nexus Tablet?

Written on 29 March 2011 by

While Google is known to be the developer of the highly popular Android mobile platform they also have their fair share of smartphones on the market as well. Starting with the Nexus One manufactured by HTC the Nexus line has grown to include the Samsung manufactured Nexus S as well which features specs very similar to that of the highly popular Samsung Galaxy S.

Well, now that Google has two of their own smartphones on the market many have been wondering if/when they would come forth to release a Nexus tablet. These questions have arose after tablets like the Motorola XOOM hit the scene complete with Google’s tablet-centric Android Honeycomb. But as you’re sure to know Motorola isn’t the only manufacturer pushing out Honeycvomb powered tablets as LG has been known for quite some time to have the G-Slate (Optimus Pad) in the works. In fact, rumors have just come to the forefront that say Google is working closely with LG to push out the Nexus tablet.

Unfortunately, there are few details nor an official confirmation surrounding this rumor but if true, expect the LG manufactured Nexus tablet to be out sometime later this summer.
