Motorola Aura

Dec  08
14

Well I certainly don’t know what Motorola was drinking when it decided to launch a phone worth $2,000. That’s the price of the Aura. That’s the cellphone announced in October which is now available to purchase. That’s not that way to regain that number 1 spot the company is craving for. Not only is the phone really expensive but it’s also exclusive to Motorola’s website. That means you won’t find this extraordinary expensive cell phone anywhere else but on Motorola’s website.

$2,000 will get you a 62-carat sapphire crystal coating but nothing special under the hood: 2 megapixel camera, 2GB of memory space and a quad band GSM antenna.

Will you get this Motorola? No, of course! That’s what we thought.

Land Rover cellphones

What makes a company on the auto industry like Land Rover, to make a push on the big market of handsets? How about two rugged cellphones that demonstrate the spirit of Land Rover? That’s probably what they were thinking when talking to Sonim Technologies in order to manufacture the devices.Anyhow, the 2 upcoming cellphones will be entitled S1 and S2 G4, and have a release date set to 2Q of 2009. What makes the cellphones special is the ability of withstanding thermal shocks, being water resistant, capable of supporting humidity, and even drops from 1.6meters to the ground. Other than these rugged details, this is pretty much a mobile phone like any other.

In order to enter in the market of USB Flash Drives for the Mac platform, SanDisk decided to upgrade the Cruzer Enterprise line, which now works with Mac OS X Tiger or Leopard, and has a 256-bit AES encryption system. In other words, users won’t need to go to a Windows computer if they want to manage passwords or have access to locked folders, instead, they just need to plug-in the pen drive and start working.

So far there is no information about the price or release date, but it is known that the drives will be available in 4 formats - 1B, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB - and the upgrade is available online on the SanDisk website in a form of a firmware update.
