Taiwan-based company, Asus, launched its new UMPC called the R50, last week as CeBIT 2008. The Asus R50 UMPC, based on the pics by Aving, is quite the looker. It has a 1024 x 600 pixels resolution 5.6-inch LCD display, and runs on the new Intel’s 1.33GHz Silverthorne CPU, now officially called the Intel Atom. The Asus R50 UMPC has a 1.8-inch 32GB SSD for storage and a 1GB RAM for working memory. Other features include WiFi b/g connection with HSDPA support, GPS functionality, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, high-res camera, and even, for your security, a fingerprint scanner and recognition device.
