One of the latest Walkman from Sony, NW- A919. But if you don’t live in Japan, then there’s no point in using this device. It only has a 1Seg tuner, not DMB, DVB-H, or Flo. The Sony player holds up to 16GB of flash memory and a 2.4-inch, 320 x 240 pixel display. The device measures approximately 86.8 × 48 × 12.3-mm and still supports ATRAC in addition to non-DRMed WMA and AAC, MP3, and linear PCM audio playback with SonicStage doing the sync work back to your PC.

Rounding things out are an FM tuner, direct encoding from your CD/MD player, clear audio noise canceling headphones, and a battery capable of juicing up to 6 hours of television or 36 hours of audio. The premium NW-A919/BI (pictured) will sell in November for ¥47,800 while a 4GB NW-A916 should pop for about ¥30,000 ($9).

iPhone Firmware 1.1.1 Released - RELOCK

Apple has just released the iPhone’s Firmware Update 1.1.1. But users beware(at least those illegitimate ones), the Firmware update has some unexpected fixes. The update includes the iTunes Wireless Store, for those legit users, but if you are one of those who unlocked the phone, take note that the firmware may make your iPhone unusable.

  • The iPhone Dev Team, infamous for their iPhone unlocking software, conducted several hours of testing and found out that the update does the following:
  • The update will work ok in iPhones with no modification.
  • The update will work ok in iPhones with Installer.app (although it gets wiped out; the apps seem to remain in the iPhone, but they won’t appear in your screen).
  • The update will work ok in unlocked iPhones, but it will return your iPhone to the activation screen. From there, no activation is possible. The iPhone doesn’t get bricked but —as expected— so if you want to keep using it, don’t update your iPhone.
  • “Third-party applications won’t work after the update” (confirmed by Dev Team.)
  • “Firmware 1.1.1. relocks iPhone properly” (confirmed by Dev Team.)
  • Unlocked iPhones updated to 1.1.1 will work with legit AT&T cards (confirmed by Natetrue)

SO, remember NOT to update your FIRMWARE to 1.1.1, or will be sadly deeply cracking !!!!!!

KDDI Infobar 2 phone

Meet the Infobar 2 for KDDI’s CDMA-based au network, first peeped as a concept back in November as a possible followup to the wildly popular (in Japan anyway) first generation Infobar launched in 2003. Measuring 47 × 138 × 15.5-mm / 104-grams, it packs a 2.6-inch 240 x 400 pixel OLED display, stereo speakers, microSD expansion, EZ FeliCA support, 2-megapixel camera, and built-in 1Seg mobile TV tuner. It’ll squeeze in about 290 minutes of talk time or 350 hours of standy when these hit Japan in November. Call us spoiled, but we still can’t help but to think that it would look better without those dedicated keys.
