When iRiver teased the tech world with pictures of their new M10, many didn’t know what to make of it. Many wondered about the pictures that were released, including the purpose of that big dial placed right smack in front of the device. Fortunately iRiver didn’t make us wait long, at least for the official and presumably, preliminary specs of the M10, which has resurfaced and renamed as the iRiver NV.The NV is a GPS device with SIRF Star III, a DMB-T tuner and a PMP with a built-in FM tuner. The 7-inch widescreen display trumps other GPS devices on the market. Built-in DMB support and out-of-the-box compatibility with popular video formats like Divx, Xvid and H.264 further help distinguish it from the rest of the crowd crowd. There’s also not one, but two SD Card slots. It plays AVI (Divx, Xvid, MPEG-4 720×480 @ 30fps) /H.264 (352×288 @30fps), ASF, WMV, MPG, MPEG, DAT, MP3, WMA, OGG, AC3, BSAC.

As an additional feature, there’s an onboard 1.3 megapixel camera, which takes GPS tags and is pointed towards the front, while on the drivers side it becomes directional signal. But the bad news however, the NV may well be an exclusive to Asia, which is incredibly lame news to start the week with. As of the moment, it is currently shipping in Korea.
